About
I’ve always had a passion for dogs, stretching back from when I was little. In the early summer of 2020, I made this passion become a reality by starting by own business: The Dog Dynamic. I chose the name because of the dynamic nature of our dog’s behaviour, and the changeable bond between dog and handler.
Holding a doctorate in a scientific field, I take a research-based approach in my techniques on behaviour development and modification in both canines and their guardians. Implementing this methodology ensures I build practical, reliable and easily achievable outcomes and foundations for all my clients across the southern parts of Tasmania. This is through focus on:
Through these systems I build out a core behaviour rulebook tailored to each of my client’s desired outcomes, making sure to demonstrate the importance of body language based approval indicators which dictate how the emotional state is recognised in guardians and canines alike. I have a particular passion for scent work, and teaching dog owners how to use this as a tool in everyday life.
In the last five years, I have completed Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour & Training (IMDT), operate as a qualified WSDA Instructor (including Level 2 Judge) and have completed the 30 Days of Canine Science, Puppy Lab, and Scent for Six training courses at the School of Canine Science.
I hold certificates in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide Prevention, which are relevant for my work training assistance dog teams for Care Dogs and Co. In my previous life I acheived a PhD in Organic Medicinal Chemistry and a Bachelor of Biotechnology and Medical Research (Hons). I am currently nearing completion of The Behaviour Bible, a three year Bachelors' -equivalent course aimed at behaviour modification specialists, through The School of Canine Science.
These qualifications and achievements are instrumental in my approach to helping dogs and humans live their best lives together.

“What a fabulous, informative experience it was to be guided by Izzy in our session to assist my anxious reactive dog Scooby. All the animals including my cats were put at ease with her calming presence.
There was good solid working information given to me to assist my dog both in the home and when venturing outside with Scooby.
Izzy is an outstanding trainer/ dog behaviourist and I would highly recommend her if you have any issues with your dog.”
- Katy
“Izzy is an awesome trainer. She made me feel comfortable straight away and was certainly a big hit with my 4yo boxer x staffy. The training exercises she set for us were easy to follow and good fun. Where I previously felt clueless and frustrated, dreading walks where we ran into other dogs, feeling like I had to treat every walk like a military exercise, I now feel much more relaxed and confident. Talking to Izzy helped me understand my dog a little more, and now the “training” just feels like fun.
I would definitely recommend Izzy for anyone looking to built their relationship with their doggo and help them (and you) live their best life!”
- Megan
“Izzy was fantastic - insightful, knowledgeable, supportive and non-judgy. She had simple, practical tips for us that have already had a positive impact. We now feel more confident that we're putting our efforts into the right things in the right way. We're happier and so is Pepper!”
- Jennifer
“…Joe is coming along beautifully. Part of it is probably just maturity, but I do think that it was your influence on me which Joe has recognised, and is responding to in a really positive way…I’m very proud of him, and at this particular moment want to thank you as just prior to our first meeting, I had actually thought of giving him up.”
- Margaret
“Isabel is a gifted dog trainer who understands and appreciates the challenges that both humans and dogs face on the journey to canine good citizenship. She is easy to understand (both from the dog and human perspectives) and instils confidence that your dog can succeed. Her approach is calm, clear, methodical, and organised - all very comforting for both human and dog. Our puppy Hampton has come a long way through puppy class, and an in-home training session helped us to better integrate him into our home. We are just so relieved to have found Isabel, and will continue to train with her to build our skills and confidence!”
